'Money Doesn't Matter For Some...': Ashwin Expresses His Opinions About Rohit Sharma's Future With MI

The speculation surrounding Rohit Sharma's future with the Mumbai Indians (MI) ahead of the Indian Premier League(IPL) 2025 mega auction has created quite a buzz in the cricket world. 

With MI being one of the most successful franchises in IPL history, the potential of Rohit to likely change franchise has garnered significant attention. 

Rohit was replaced by Hardik Pandya as the captain ahead of the IPL 2024 season. This change had fuelled rumours about his future with the franchise.

Ashwin's Thoughts On Rohit Sharma's Loyalty With MI

Despite these speculations, the renowned Indian off-spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin, expressed his thoughts and opinion about his future with the Mumbai Indians. He believes that Rohit Sharma would continue his association with MI.

Ashwin shared his thoughts on his YouTube channel and emphasised that he might prefer stability and loyalty to MI over any new challenges or financial incentives elsewhere. 

"Even if you think like Rohit, it's not wrong at all. 'I don't want any headache. I have been a captain for India. I have captained Mumbai many times. Even if I am not a captain, I am going to Mumbai happily. If I play for Mumbai, it's super'. I am sure most players are like that. After a stage, money doesn't matter for some of those players. That's the thing," Ashwin said on his YouTube channel.

According to Ashwin, at this stage in his career, money might not be the primary motivator, and staying with MI could be a matter of comfort and legacy for the seasoned cricketer.

The IPL 2025 mega auction is sure to bring surprises, and whether Rohit remains with MI or not, his decision will undoubtedly be one of the key talking points leading up to the event.
