On Tuesday, August 19, the Indian selectors will assemble in Mumbai and hold a meeting to select the Asia Cup squad in the presence of captain Suryakumar Yadav. Ahead of the crucial decision, several pundits are voicing their opinions about which players should be part of the team, as several spots are up for grabs.

The latest to jump onto the bandwagon is former India opener turned analyst Aakash Chopra. Chopra shed light on the 15-member squad he would love to see and also opined on the reports of a four-way race for the last spot.

Akash Chopra Heaps Massive Praise On Shreyas Iyer

Notably, there were reports that the selectors are finding it hard to pick one player out of Shreyas Iyer, Washington Sundar, Rinku Singh, and Riyan Parag. Meanwhile, Chopra has batted for Iyer's inclusion in the 15-member list.

"At the fifth position, I have kept Shreyas Iyer. He is in my team, and if I am keeping him, I will play him in the XI as well. I am lengthening my batting a little. Shreyas Iyer deserves to play now. If everything had gone right for him, he might have been in the captaincy race at the moment," Chopra elaborated while speaking on his YouTube Channel.
