The ongoing Delhi Premier League is midway through, with teams fighting for the top four spots. Last year's runners-up, South Delhi Superstarz, are having a great turnaround as the Ayush Badoni-led side have won their last three matches.
From being ninth on the table, the Superstarz are now placed third on the table with seven points in seven matches. Talking about South Delhi, they recently locked horns against Purani Dilli, where they registered a 46-run win.
Notably, in that match, Ayush Badoni hogged the internet for the wrong reasons as the South Delhi captain was accidentally elbowed accidently by his own teammate.
Ayush Badoni Gets Elbowed Accidently In DPL 2025
Pacer Abhishek Khandelwal was the star of the match as he took a four-wicket haul and registered the figures of 4/31. His first wicket was Aarush, and the seamer took the catch off his own bowling.
However, the right-arm seamer got too excited with the dismissal and was all over the moon following the big wicket. Abhishek was elated and accidentally elbowed Badoni on the face. It was a nasty blow as the captain was in pain and also rubbed his face to reduce the impact of the hit.
Even after hitting Badoni on the face, Abhishek didn't realise that he had hit his captain by mistake and continued his celebration. Watch the incident here.
Ayush Badoni Having A Disastrous Season
The 25-year-old is not having the best of a season as he has amassed just 99 runs in six innings. The toll of being a leader has taken a big hit on the right-handed batter and is yet to hit a solitary fifty in the ongoing season.
It is a disastrous season compared to the inaugural edition as Badoni had amassed 522 runs in just nine innings in DPL 2024.
