Abhishek Sharma owned the night in Hyderabad as his majestic 141 runs knock helped SRH chase down a mighty total of 246 runs set by PBKS. After the century, Sharma pulled out a chit from his pocket which had a special message for the fans.
However, his teammate Ishan Kishan perhaps expected something else and as they discussed the incident after the game, Abhishek animatedly reaffirmed his love for the Orange army.
Abhishek Sharma Expresses Love For Orange Army
SRH opener Abhishek Sharma hit a 40-ball century against PBKS on April 12 at the Hyderabad Stadium. After hitting the ton, he pulled out a paper from his pocket which had a special message for fans. The note read ‘This one is for Orange Army,’ referring to Hyderabad fans.
Meanwhile, after the game, Ishan Kishan approached Abhishek and told him that his message was fairly simple and he expected it to be more meaningful.
However, Abhishek was unmoved by Kishan’s opinion as he professed his love for the SRH fans. He stated that the Orange Army means a lot to him with a hilarious analogy.
"I thought you would show something special that you have written," Kishan said.
"Tell him what fans are. Orange Army are fans. I bleed orange," Abhishek hit back.
Sharma finished the game with a mighty 141 off 55 balls, the highest individual score by an Indian in the history of IPL. SRH chased the total in 18.3 overs to claim a big win and snap out of the 4-game losing streak.
Mystery Around Abhishek’s Note Resolved
Abhishek Sharma lit up the IPL stage on April 12 with a sensational knock that powered SRH to a thrilling win over PBKS. However, a big talking point was the handwritten note he pulled from his pocket after his century.
Travis Head, Sharma’s SRH teammate, said in a post-match interview that the note had been in Abhishek’s pocket for 6 games. But Abhishek had a different version. The 24-year-old cleared the air, saying the note was written on the morning of the game. He apparently had a random thought that if he did something, it would be for the Orange Army.
