In a high scoring entertaining game, SRH beat PBKS by 8 wickets to clinch a sensational win. Batting first, Shreyas Iyerโ€™s 82 off 36 balls powered Punjab to a big total of 245 runs. However, Hyderabad came out all guns blazing to pull off a majestic chase. Abhishek Sharma starred with a sensational 141 runs knock as Hyderabad completed a successful chase in 18.3 overs.

Priyansh Arya Guides PBKS To A Flyer Start

Last gameโ€™s centurion, Priyansh Arya extended his sublime form to give PBKS a perfect start. His 13-ball 36 helped Punjab post 50 runs off the board in just 18 balls. The duo of Arya and Prasbhsimran Singh (42 off 23) unleashed carnage to fetch an 89-run mega powerplay for Kings.

Shreyas Iyerโ€™s Classic Knock Helps Punjab Post Enormous Total

Once the openers departed, Punjab captain Shreyas Iyer took over to unleash fire. He slammed a blazing knock of 82 off just 36 balls with 6 boundaries and 6 sixes. His fiery knock helped PBKS unlock a 200-run milestone at 18 overs. 

After Iyerโ€™s magical inning, Marcus Stoinis pulled off an outstanding finish. In 11 balls that he faced, Stoinis slammed 34 runs with 4 sixes and his fiery finish steered PBKS to a mighty total of 245 runs. 

For SRH, Mohammed Shami bowled the second most expensive spell in the history of IPL, conceding 75 runs off 4 overs. The other 4 bowlers also conceded 40+ runs.

Head-Abhishek Back In Destructive Form As PBKS Bowlers Get Trashed

While Punjab Kings enjoyed scoring runs in the first inning, they got a taste of their own medicine in the second inning.  SRH openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma caused destruction with an 83-run mega powerplay. Abhishek scored a fifty off just 19 balls after trashing Yash Thakur and Marco Jansen for 20 and 19 runs respectively. 

Travis Head also joined the party from the other end as he slammed a 31-ball half-century. Owing to the duoโ€™s carnage, SRH had 143 runs on the board at the end of the first 10 overs. 

Abhishek Sharmaโ€™s Ton Powers SRH To Outstanding Victory

Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma stitched up a majestic 174-run opening partnership before Yuzvendra Chahal got a breakthrough. He dismissed Head on 66 off 37 balls which included 9 fours and 3 sixes. However, Abhishek continued to unleash fire from his end. 

He slammed a 40-ball century to put SRH on top of the high-scoring chase. Sharma ended up scoring the highest individual total record by an Indian in IPL as he was dismissed at 141 off 54 balls with 14 fours and 10 large sixes. When he departed, SRH had 222 runs on the board. Heinrich Klaasen further slammed 21 off 14 balls to power SRH to a successful chase in 18.3 overs. With that, SRH won the extraordinary game by 8 wickets.
