Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is one of the most popular franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Their brand of cricket in the league has been universally praised by the fans and the cricket pundits. While the credit for the on-field success goes to Pat Cummins and his troops, the off-field calmness is credited to their owner, Kavya Maran.

How is Kavya Maran as an opener? Ex-player answers

The SRH owner and the team have gone through a roller-coaster ride since winning the league in 2016 and they have also witnessed slump in their form prior to last season. While she always attends home games of the SRH side, never does she tries and take away the limelight from the players.

Former SRH and current RCB star, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, in an old interview stated that Kavya Maran doesn't interfere in on-field cricketing issues and understands the cruelty of this sport. He added that just like players, she gets disturbed when the team doesn't perform well, but she never questions anyone's integrity.

"She is the owner of the team and we understand that she has invested a lot in the team. Just like the players, the owner also gets mentally disturbed, but never has she directly or indirectly questioned a player or coach's integrity. Even when we don't perform, she always supports us and it feels good to be a part of the team," Bhuvi stated in an old interview.

SRH in dire situation in IPL 2025

There was a lot of hype prior to the IPL 2025 season for SRH but so far, the team has disappointed with just a solitary win in 5 games. After winning the first game, the Orange Army lost 4 in a row and are now tottering at the last place. They will next play against the Punjab Kings on Saturday, April 12 at the Uppal Stadium.
