Shubman Gill Creates History; Becomes 5th Fastest To 2000 IPL Runs For Single Team

The Gujarat Titans (GT) batter has been outstanding for his franchise since their inception in 2022. In the past 3 seasons, the Indian batter has gone from strength to strength and has broken several records in the process. During the ongoing clash against Lucknow Super Giants, Gill entered an elite IPL list which comprises of some big names.

The GT captain scored a brisk 60 off 38 balls and made a mockery of the LSG attack with his elegant batting. He looked in sublime touch as he and Sai Sudharsan added 120 runs for the opening wicket and laid the foundation for a big score.

In the process of his knock, Gill entered an elite list and became the fifth fastest batter in IPL history to score 2,000 runs for a single team. He achieved this magnificent record playing for GT.

Batters with fastest to 2000 runs for one team

RCB legend, Chris Gayle tops the list with just 41 innings to reach 2000 runs for a single team, with KL Rahul in the second place at 43 innings.

David Warner and RR great, Jos Buttler occupy the third and the fourth spot and now Gill joins an elusive list with 51 innings taken to reach 2000 run-tally.

GT struggle after brilliant start by Gill

The GT openers, Gill and Sudharsan added 120 runs for the first wicket, but once the duo departed, the GT batting crumbled like a pack of cards as LSG bowlers found ways to make a comeback. From 120-0, the Titans collapsed to 157 for 4 and are struggling to reach a respectable total.
