'Man Of The Match To Yash Dayal' - Faf du Plessis After RCB's Qualification To IPL 2024 Playoffs

In an emotionally charged match, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) beat Chennai Super Kings (CSK), securing a spot in the playoffs. RCB set a big target by scoring 218-5 in 20 overs.

CSK needed 201 runs to qualify for the playoffs. But CSK fell short of the target, concluding their innings at 191-7 in 20 overs. 

Faf Du Plessis, the captain of RCB, was awarded the Player of the Match in the game. He kicked off the innings of RCB with Kohli by scoring 54 runs off 39 balls as the opener.

Also his incredible catch of Santner during fielding proved to be a significant game-changer. Faf du Plessis was once a CSK player before he moved to RCB in 2022 mega auction. 

However Faf du Plessis dedicated his MVP award to Yash Dayal who bowled the last over to MS Dhoni. 

 "I wanted to give the Man of the Match to Yash Dayal. The way he bowled was unbelievable. For a man who's fairly new, he deserves it."

[On what he told Dayal before the last over] Pace off is the best option and trust your skills and enjoy, this is what you trained for. The yorker did not work the 1st ball and he went back to pace off and it worked unbelievably well. 

[On the crowd tonight]. It's crazy, even when we weren't winning the fans were here" - Faf du Plessis said post game.

RCB will now face either Rajasthan Royals or Sunrisers Hyderabad in Eliminator at Ahmedabad on Wednesday.
