MS Dhoni is arguably one of the greatest cricketing geniuses of all time. Known for his charismatic leadership and his ability to maintain composure under pressure, Dhoni’s captaincy sparked a golden era in Indian cricket that went a long way in shaping the future of the sport in the country.

However, his former teammates know much more about his personality than the general audience. In an exclusive rapid-fire contest hosted by Aakash Chopra on JioCinema, former India cricketer Robin Uthappa took a trip down memory lane to reflect on his time with the 2007 World Cup squad and also caste some light on MSD’s interactions during team meetings.

When asked about who the ‘Always Cool’ dude was in the dressing room, Uthappa regarded Ms Dhoni as an all-time cool person. His answer comes as no surprise as Mahi is widely considered to be a very calm and composed personality within the cricketing fraternity. It is this very quality that has helped him to excel as a leader and outfox the opposition in very unlikely situations.

Uthappa added that Dhoni used to speak rationally whenever required and while he communicated, the entire team would focus their attention on the ongoing conversation.

"Dhoni always been like that. He used to speak when required. When he said something, you would listen and shut up. Even in 2007. He's always been like that. In group discussions, he used to talk quite a lot."

Dhoni’s influence has had a positive impact on the team’s overall growth and performance. Under his leadership, the Men in Blue have won three ICC titles, the most by any skipper in international cricket. As the World Cup once again returns on home soil, fans will be backing the Rohit Sharma-led side to repeat the success of the 2011 World Cup edition.
