Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar praised KL Rahul for his sublime form as he scored a century in the third Test against England at Lord’s. This is Rahul’s second hundred in the series, and Manjrekar called him a class cricketer while also being pitiful about the immediate dismissal.
Rahul, with an overnight half-century, walked out to bat with Rishabh Pant on Day 3 of the Lord’s Test. Every moment of the first session went in India’s favour until the final over before lunch, where a miscommunication led to run out of Pant on 74.
Sanjay Manjrekar Praises KL Rahul Despite Immediate Dismissal After 100
KL Rahul took time to construct his innings and slammed a 100 off 174 balls. After a ton at Leeds, Rahul registered his second hundred of the series, establishing his authority in the Test format as an opener.
Before fans could celebrate his milestone, Rahul lost focus and went for a drive against Shoaib Bashir’s flighted delivery. However, the ball didn’t spin much and instead it caught the outside edge and flew to Harry Brook at slip, who made no mistake.
Rahul had to walk back to the exact score of 100. Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar, who is often a vocal critic of individual milestones and sluggish approach, praised KL Rahul on social media. He referred to him as a class cricketer who is ‘finally’ unleashing his full potential in the red ball format.
"Finally this very likeable & class cricketer comes of age. Carries his form from one Test to the other. 2 hundreds now in 3 Tests! Pity about the immediate dismissal after. But overall so far this series🙇🙇🙇 KL!"

Opener KL Rahul etched his name in the record books by becoming the first Indian opener to score two Test centuries at Lord’s. He reached the landmark in the third Test against England with a gritty hundred, bringing stability to India’s innings.
