After a rather productive session, India lost Rishabh Pant, the star batter, in the final over just before lunch on day three. Batting on 74, Pant was run out after trying to steal a single, as Ben Stokes did wonders with his throw.
Rishabh Pant Gets Fans' Ire For Throwing It Away Again
India had a wonderful first session on day three, as they had already put up 103 runs in the session after 22.2 overs, with opener KL Rahul and middle-order left-handed wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant spending time in the middle. However, with just four balls remaining, Rishabh Pant did something to make it troubling for India.
After defending off Shoaib Bashir, Pant tried to steal a single, as he wanted to get KL Rahul back on strike, who was nearing a century, but Pant couldn't accelerate as he would have liked, while English skipper Ben Stokes was spot on with his brilliance, as he held the ball completely in his hand and aimed at the stumps, hitting a bull's eye.
This ensured that England got their lone wicket of the session as they ended on a high after getting thrashed by these two power hitters. Pant was batting beautifully on 74 after 112 deliveries, as he had already smacked eight boundaries and two maximums. However, this wicket almost changed the course of the session for India.
