Mumbai Indians' star spinner Piyush Chawla has opened up on his bond and friendship with Virat Kohli, as the two have played together since the under-19 days.

During an interview with Shubman Gaur, Chawla took an indirect dig at Amit Mishra and remarked that Virat is still the same person he was 10-15 years ago.

Chawla's remarks came after Amit Mishra recently alleged that Kohli has changed with time and is not the same person he was at the start of his career.

“I have seen Virat change a lot. We had almost stopped talking. When you get fame and power, they think people are reaching out to them for a purpose. I was never one of those. I have known Cheeku since the time he was 14, when he used to eat Samosas, and when he needed Pizza every night," said Mishra.

Meanwhile, Chawla heaped massive praise on Kohli and stated that his experience with Virat has always been pleasant. He Said:

"Virat Kohli is still the same as me as he was 10-15 years before. My experience with him is always good, and I share great camaraderie".

Chawla also narrated a recent anecdote, where he was standing at the boundary rope for his commentary stint, and Virat asked him to order some good food.

"During Asia Cup, he was fielding at the boundary ropes, while I was there for a commentary stint. So, he came to me and said 'PC, Let's order something to eat. 'So, he has the same conversations with us that we used to have 10-15 years ago," said Chawla.

Talking about Virat, he flew back to his family in London after the Sri Lanka series and will be next seen in action in September during the Bangladesh series.
