As Team India gears up for the crucial second Test match against Bangladesh at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur, Virat Kohli’s continued struggles in the nets have caught the attention of fans and former cricketers. His form remains a concern, as his recent practice session exposed lingering vulnerabilities.

Virat Kohli Dismissed By Unknown Pacer Jamshed Alam In Test

On Wednesday, during an intense net session, Virat Kohli was dismissed twice within a span of four overs by relatively unknown pacer Jamshed Alam, a fast bowler from Lucknow.

Bowling at a speed of around 135 kmph, his well-placed out-swingers troubled the star batter, eventually leading to his dismissals. He was overjoyed by his performance, recounted the moment of bowling to one of the modern-day greats of cricket.

"I bowled 24 balls to Virat Kohli. My speed was around 135 kmph and I got him out twice. The practice pitch was helping pacers, though the Kanpur pitch generally helps spinners. Virat Kohli told me, 'Well bowled bhai, kitne saal ke ho (How old are you)? I told him that I am 22. He replied, mehnat karte raho (keep working hard). I am over the moon after dismissing him," Alam told NDTV.

The net session at Green Park Stadium was intense for the entire Indian team, with head coach Gautam Gambhir emphasizing rigorous practice. Kohli, known for his work ethic, spent significant time at the nets, working on his footwork and timing.

Virat Kohli Struggles Continue Vs Spin

Virat Kohli faced several dismissals in the nets and had difficulty playing against spin bowlers. In a practice session, left-arm seamer Axar Patel bowled Kohli out by hitting his middle stump. Since the Kanpur pitch is expected to be favourable for spinners, Kohli faced India's spin trio of Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, and R Ashwin.

As India gears up for the second Test, Kohli’s forms remain under scrutiny. The star batter scored six runs in the first inning and got out on 17 in the second India hopes he can improve as they have a long Test season ahead after the second Test against Bangladesh.

India will play New Zealand, and in November they will tour Australia, which will be one of of the most important series for Kohli and Team India.
