Delhi's off-spinner Shivam Sharma played a crucial role in his team’s victory over Railways in the recently concluded Ranji Trophy 2024-25. After the match concluded, Shivam made a big revelation about Virat Kohli’s reaction to the serious security breach that took place during day 3. The incident occurred in the first session when three fans invaded the field to meet the star cricketer.

The match was already in the spotlight due to Kohli’s participation, as the former India captain returned to Ranji Trophy action following the BCCI's rule which state that centrally contracted players need to feature in domestic cricket when available.

Shivam Shares Virat's Reaction On Security Breach

During the first session of Day 3, three fans breached security and rushed onto the field while Kohli was fielding. Before the security personnel could intervene, all three managed to touch Kohli’s feet. Shivam Sharma shared details of the incident in a conversation and revealed Kohli’s compassionate reaction.

"It is just Virat bhaiya's craze that this happened. It shouldn't have happened. Someone could have come in carrying anything. Virat bhaiya said to security that 'kisi ko maarna mat' (Don't beat up anyone)," Delhi off-spinner Shivam Sharma said on the incident as quoted by PTI.

Besides security breach, the match ended on a positive note for Delhi, with the Ayush Badoni-led side securing a comprehensive victory over Railways by an innings and 19 runs. Despite Kohli not making a big impact with the bat, his presence undoubtedly lifted the morale of his teammates.

With his Ranji Trophy commitments now over, Kohli will next join the Indian squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against England, which begins on February 6, 2025.
