With the Champions Trophy 2025 on the horizon, several Indian players from the squad participated in their respective Ranji Trophy matches. While some showcased their form ahead of the marquee ICC event, others had subdued outings.

Here we take a look at how each of them fared in their respective Ranji Trophy outings at the end of Day 3.

Ravindra Jadeja rested as Saurashtra storm into Quarterfinals

Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja did not bowl in Saurashtra’s thumping innings-and-144-run victory over Assam in their final league-stage fixture. While Jadeja had been instrumental in the previous game against Delhi, where he claimed 12 wickets and surpassed 550 First-Class dismissals, he played a quieter role in this encounter.

Batting at No. 9, Jadeja managed 19 off 28 balls as Saurashtra posted a commanding 474 in the first innings. However, he did not take the field when Assam was bowled out for 164 and 166, leading to speculation over his fitness. Team sources later confirmed that he was rested as a precaution, considering his crucial role in India’s upcoming ODI series against England and the Champions Trophy.

Virat Kohli didn't get a chance to salvage form

Virat Kohli’s struggles in the domestic format continued as he was dismissed for just 6 runs in Delhi’s innings-and-19-run win over Railways at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Kohli fell victim to fast bowler Himanshu Sangwan in Delhi's first innings, who was the pick of the bowlers for Railways with a four-wicket haul in the first innings.

However, Delhi’s dominance meant Kohli did not get an opportunity to make amends on Day 3, as Railways were bundled out cheaply in both innings. Sumit Mathur starred with an all-round performance to guide Delhi to a convincing victory in front of a packed home crowd.

Kuldeep Yadav strikes on Day 3

Left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav had a long spell for Uttar Pradesh against Madhya Pradesh, returning figures of 3 for 124 in 31 overs. His wickets included Himanshu Mantri (52), Harsh Gawli (258), and Sagar Solanki (72).

However, Uttar Pradesh’s bowling unit struggled as Madhya Pradesh amassed a colossal 670/7 in 160 overs, with Gawli and Shubham Sharma (208) leading the charge. Kuldeep’s endurance was tested in challenging conditions, but he remained among the wickets as he continues to fine-tune his form for the Champions Trophy.
