Virat Kohli's return to domestic cricket after 12 years has drawn massive attention, especially during his first Ranji Trophy match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. Kohli's appearance was a significant moment for cricket fans, but it quickly took an unsettling turn. On the third day of the match between Delhi and Railways, three fans breached security and invaded the pitch to meet their idol, causing a lengthy stoppage in play.

This incident came just a day after one fan managed to enter the ground during the first innings to touch Virat Kohli’s feet. While the fan’s actions were alarming, the situation escalated on Day 3, when three individuals made their way onto the pitch at once. The fans sprinted the length of the ground, ignoring security measures, in an attempt to reach Kohli. Thankfully, the police, along with the in-ground security team, quickly intervened and escorted the trespassers off the field.

The chaos created by these incidents disrupted the game and raised serious concerns about security at the venue. Kohli, who is known for his massive fan following, has always been a crowd favourite, but this situation highlighted the extreme lengths some fans are willing to go to get close to their cricketing hero.

Virat Kohli Scores 6 Runs On His Ranji Return

This match marked a special moment for Kohli, as it was his first Ranji appearance since 2012. His return to domestic red-ball cricket followed a directive from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), encouraging international players to participate in domestic games following India’s 3-1 loss in Australia.

However, in the first innings, Virat Kohli had a tough time as the star batter was dismissed cheaply by Railways pacer Himanshu Sangwan with a dream delivery, departing for just 6 runs.
