Virat Kohli, the undisputed king of India, never fails to connect with his fans. Though his much-anticipated return to the Ranji Trophy didn’t go as planned, Kohli ensured that his admirers at the Arun Jaitley Stadium had something to cherish. The 36-year-old star batter was dismissed for just six runs in Delhi’s clash against Railways, yet his gesture of clicking pictures with ground staff and opposition players won hearts.

Returning to the Ranji Trophy after over a decade, Kohli’s presence at the Arun Jaitley Stadium attracted a huge crowd. Fans eagerly waited to watch their hero bat, but their excitement was short-lived as he managed just six runs from 15 balls before Himanshu Sangwan bowled him out.

Virat Kohli’s Heartwarming Gesture

Despite a forgettable outing with the bat, Kohli’s sportsmanship and love for his supporters remained intact. After Delhi’s victory, he was seen taking pictures with the ground staff and opposition players. A video that surfaced on social media showed him posing for photos, proving once again why he is adored by fans worldwide.

While his return to domestic cricket didn’t bring fireworks with the bat, Kohli’s presence alone made the match special.

Delhi Put A Dominant Performance Against Railways

Delhi’s bowlers delivered a clinical performance to ensure a comfortable victory. Off-spinner Shivam Sharma played a key role, grabbing five wickets as Railways struggled to put up a fight. After Delhi posted 374 runs in their first innings, Railways could only manage 241 and 114 in their two innings, handing Delhi a well-deserved win with a bonus point.

Sumit Mathur, who was batting on 78 overnight, fell short of a century, scoring 86 before Sangwan dismissed him. Kohli’s early dismissal meant the crowd missed the opportunity to see him bat again, but Delhi’s strong performance made up for it. Delhi secured a commanding win, defeating Railways by an innings and 19 runs.
