While South African bowlers made life tough for Indian batters in the ongoing first Test at Centurion on Day 1, Team India bowlers were unable to produce a similar performance against the Proteas on Day 2.

The conditions were overcast, and the track assisted pacer, where the Indian attack led by Jasprit Bumrah, were taken for plenty, as South Africa managed to end play on Day 2 with an 11-run lead.

In the post-lunch session alone, South Africa, led by Dean Elgar and David Bedingham, slammed 141 runs, losing just two wickets, highlighting India's drawback in the Test thus far.

Former India all-rounder and batting coach Sanjay Bangar pinned the blame on lack of experience as the main reason behind such a bowling show.

Captain Rohit Sharma banked on Prasidh Krishna and Shardul Thakur at the start of the second session, which backfired as boundaries became constant. Speaking to Star Sports, Bangar opined that India would be disappointed with the effort in the field, knowing the calibre they possess.

Here's what Sanjay Bangar said

"In the second session when they leaked runs and had an average of five runs an over, was surprising for the quality of bowling attack that India possesses. The inexperience came to the fore as the plan was to probabaly pitch the ball slightly up but the swing wasn't really there. And that meant a lot of deliveries were driven by Elgar and De Zorzi, and later on the same trend continued."

South Africa will resume Day 3 with an 11-run lead, with Dean Elgar and Marco Jansen batting on 140* and 3*, respectively, and the Proteas scoring on 256 for 5.
