You don’t see Jasprit Bumrah expressing his emotions every day on the field. However, when it comes to crucial match situations, the talismanic pacer more often than not delivers. Similarly, on Wednesday, he did what he frequently does during India’s first Test match of the two-match series against South Africa at SuperSport Park, Centurion.

To make matters more interesting, it was Virat Kohli who changed the bail position just before the wicket of a well-set Tony de Zorzi.

After India’s fighting 245, South Africa lost Aiden Markram early. Yet, de Zorzi and Dean Elgar recovered their side sharply, as they took them past 100 with ease. Then Bumrah came back into the attack, and delivered, as his brilliant short-of-a-length delivery towards the outside off stump left the left-hander puzzled.

Yashasvi Jaiswal took a clean catch at slip cordon, as the ball went straight towards him after a thick outside edge. Bumrah was pumped after the wicket, and rightly so, the entire squad were thrilled after the partnership broke.
