Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batter Ambati Rayudu recently made headlines with his comments on the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) after their elimination from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

Following RCB's defeat to Rajasthan Royals by four wickets on 22nd May, Rayudu took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his thoughts.

While expressing sympathy for RCB fans, Rayudu criticized the team management and indirectly targeted RCB's star batter Virat Kohli

He wrote, "My heart truly goes out to all the RCB supporters who have passionately supported the team over the years. If only the management and the leaders had the team’s interests ahead of individual milestones, RCB would have won multiple titles."

Rayudu's comments were seen as a dig at Kohli, who has been a part of RCB for 16 years without securing an IPL trophy.

He further added, "Just remember how many fantastic players have been let go. Force your management to bring players who will put team interests first. A great new chapter can start from the mega auction."

This statement follows the criticism of Kohli's strike rate, suggesting that he prioritises personal milestones over the team's success.

Despite this, Kohli holds the Orange Cap, having amassed 741 runs this season with a high score of 113*, a strike rate of 154.70, one century, and five half-centuries.
