BCB president Aminul Islam has revealed that India's upcoming white-ball series against Bangladesh is in jeopardy, with the BCCI awaiting clearance from the Indian Government to tour the neighbouring nation. Earlier, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) released the schedule for the white-ball leg comprising three ODIs and as many T20Is.
BCB Chief Provides Key Details On India Series
On Monday, BCB chief Aminul Islam gave a sneak peek into the uncertainty surrounding Bangladesh's white-ball series against India.
After BCB's 19th board meeting at the iconic Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Islam spoke to the media, revealing that the BCCI is currently in talks with the Indian Government for formal clearance to send its players for the series, despite political turmoil in the neighbouring country.
He revealed that the BCB's discussions with the BCCI have been positive, with both boards putting their best foot forward to conduct the high-profile series in these challenging times.
"We're having positive discussions with the BCCI. It's not like (hosting India) in August or September, we are having discussions how we can do the series and if we cannot host it now we will do it at another possible time. They (BCCI) are waiting for some government clearance," Aminul Islam was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.
India's Tour Of Bangladesh: What Do We Know So Far?
As per the schedule revealed by BCB, India are slated to face Bangladesh in three ODIs and as many T20Is between August 17 and 31. The tour kicks off with the ODI leg, featuring three 50-over games between the two teams in Dhaka and Chattogram.
The ODI series will be followed by a three-match T20I leg, with Chattogram's Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium hosting the inaugural affair and the historic Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium conducting the decider.
