After a gap of seven years, the Babar Azam-led side landed in India and was welcomed with great enthusiasm by the Indian fans.

"Indian people have given lots of love at the airport, it's just like our fans love us back in Lahore, Karachi & Peshawar,” said Rizwan during Pakistan’s warm-up game against New Zealand.

This tour marks a significant occasion for players like Rizwan, Babar Azam, and Shaheen Afridi, as they will be playing on Indian grounds for the first time. The Pakistan team has already initiated their preparations for the ICC event. Rizwan, particularly, started with a bang, scoring a century in their first warm-up match against the Kiwis.

Pakistan, the champions of the 1992 World Cup, will begin their 2023 World Cup journey against the Netherlands on October 6 in Hyderabad. Subsequently, the Men in Green will lock horns with Sri Lanka on October 10 at the same venue.

Their journey will then lead them to Ahmedabad, where they are set for a much-anticipated face-off with India on October 14. Following their match against India, the Pakistani team has a packed schedule, squaring off against Australia, Afghanistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, New Zealand, and England, in that order.
