India is all set to host the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. The last time India hosted the 50-over World Cup was in 2011 and India won that edition as well. After 12 years, the World Cup is back in India and a few of the former cricketers believe that the Indian team will have an edge over the other teams.

Rohit Sharma and the company have played a good brand of cricket in this Asia Cup but in their last match which was against Bangladesh, they were defeated. Although the main players were rested for the game, but still they were not up to the mark.

The former England captain Nasser Hussain believes that India will be the favourites of the World Cup but not the clear favourites.

Here's what Nasser Hussain said:

"They're favorites but they're not clear favorites because of the amount of quality sides there are. If you look at their squad, they have two of the greatest white ball batters to ever play the game in Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. They have a potential future great in Shubman Gill and Bumrah coming back is fantastic news. So if you look at their batting and bowling, it's right up there among one of the best squads."

"An area where they lack is if you look at the batters, they don't bowl and the bowlers don't bat. So the side has a different make-upto England and Australia with all the all-rounders."

Team India is currently in Sri Lanka and contesting for their eighth title in the Asia Cup. They defeated Pakistan by a huge margin of 228 runs and now they have qualified for the Final of the Asia Cup 2023.

India will be facing Sri Lanka in the final on Sunday.
