The excitement for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is already gained momentum, as all nations have started their preparations for the marquee event set to be played in the West Indies and United States in June.

One of most brutal white-ball players, New Zealand's Martin Guptill has ahead of the showpiece event picked his four semi-finalists, where one could eventually end up winning the coveted title.

As quoted by Crickettimes, Guptill called India, New Zealand, and Australia are strong contenders, while struggling to pick a side between finalists of the ICC T20 WC 2022, winners England and runners-up Pakistan.

“It’s a tough one but I would pick Australia, India and New Zealand. I can’t decide between England and Pakistan (laughs)…one of those two,” Martin Guptill.

The 37-year-old is a T20 stalwart for New Zealand, having featured in seven ICC T20 World Cup editions, amassing 610 runs in 28 matches in the competition. Overall, Guptill is the fourth highest-run getter in T20Is, slamming 3,531 runs in 112 matches between 2009 and 2022, hitting two centuries, and 20 half-centuries.

Co-hosted by Windies, and US, the upcoming edition will begin from 1st June, and finish on 29th June, with a total of 55 games being played across nine cities, six in West Inides and three in States.

20 nations will be participating in this edition, with Canada, Uganda, and the United States making their debut appearance.
