England's leading white-ball spinner Adil Rashid created history in the ongoing first T20I against West Indies at Barbados, becoming the first Three Lions bowler to scalp 100 20-over wickets.

Prior to the encounter, Rashid was sitting on 98 wickets, and took Kyle Mayers and Shimron Hetmyer, respectively to bring up the landmark 100th wicket in his 100 T20I.

In 100 T20Is, Rashid has claimed 100 wickets with two four-wicket hauls at an economy of 7.42, having first debuted in the format in June 2009.

The wily spinner also played a crucial role in England's second T20I title, he claimed two wickets against Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Final, which Jos Buttler and Co. won.

Pacer Chris Jordan is a close second in the list with 69, followed by former fast bowler Stuart Broad, former spinner Graeme Swann, and former all-rounder David Willey.

Interestingly, Rashid became only the 10th international, and sixth spin bowler to hit the 100 T20I-wicket mark, where New Zealand's Tim Southee leads the charts with 144.

Rashid's final over went for plenty, where West Indies' all-rounder Andre Russell slammed the spinner for 11 runs in five balls, as the England bowler finished his quota of four overs, registering figures of 25 for 2.

Meanwhile, hosts West Indies went on to clinch the first T20I and thus took a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.
