Pakistan’s T20I captain Shaheen Shah Afridi wants Mohammad Amir to be available to play for the Men in Green once again. Shaheen said he will talk to Amir in this regard."

Amir, the left-arm fast bowler, has been absent from international cricket for over three years, signaling a disconnect with the cricketing system in his homeland. Although he officially retired from international cricket in 2021, there have been persistent speculations regarding a potential comeback.

The change in Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) administration last December, marked by the removal of Ramiz Raja as chairman, was anticipated to pave the way for Amir's return. However, lackluster performances in this year's Pakistan Super League seemed to cast doubt on Amir's international comeback. Despite indications that Amir's international career might have concluded, Shaheen Afridi has publicly conveyed his deep respect for the senior player.

Shaheen recently made a public appeal, sharing his positive experience of bowling with Amir during the ILT20 2024 while representing Desert Vipers. He emphasized the value of their partnership and declared his intent to discuss Amir's potential return.

"I will talk to Mohammad Amir if he's available to come back for Pakistan once again. Amir and I bowled together after almost 5 years. It was a very good experience to bowl with him; our partnership was great,”  revealed Shaheen Afridi.

Both Shaheen and Amir are currently playing for the Vipers in the ILT20 2024. Since Amir's retirement, he has embraced the role of a globetrotter, participating in various short-format franchise leagues worldwide.

He has become an integral part of the franchise cricket global circuit, securing opportunities to showcase his skills in short-form cricket and on the county circuit.

Despite attempts by Mohammed Hafeez, the new Pakistan team director, to persuade Amir to reconsider, it appears that Amir's current priorities lie elsewhere, signaling a potential conclusion to his international cricketing career.
