'If He Doesn't Score..', Ex-Opener Predicts Shubman Gill's T20I Future After Another Failure vs WI

On Tuesday, India broke their two-match losing streak, securing a clinical seven-wicket victory over West Indies in the third T20I of the five-match series. Bowling first, the visitors reduced the hosts to 159 and chased it successfully, courtesy of a flamboyant half-century from Suryakumar Yadav. However, Indian opener Shubman Gill continued his poor T20I run, getting out to Alzarri Joseph for a sloth-paced eleven-ball six. This was his third consecutive single-digit score in the series.

So, after the game concluded, former Indian opener Aakash Chopra expressed concerns over Gill's abysmal batting form.

Although Chopra reckoned that the stylish batter will definitely be given a long run, he also warned him to get back his mojo soon, considering the cut-throat competition for the opener's slot in the Indian team.

'If he doesn't score runs, the questions will become bigger'- Aakash Chopra on Shubman Gill

"Shubman Gill once again got out, this time off Alzarri Joseph's bowling. He was dismissed off his bowling in the last match as well," Chopra said.

"Questions will be raised. He committed a mistake once again. He will play for now but it is important that he scores runs, because if he doesn't score runs, the questions will become bigger," he added.

Gill has had a sub-par Caribbean tour, managing only two fifty-plus scores across formats. Therefore, he will be desperate to turn things around when India clash with the home team in the fourth T20I in Florida on August 12.
