Team India is set to face England in the all-important third Test against England at the iconic Lord’s from Thursday, July 10 onwards. With series locked at 1-1 after the win at Edgbaston in Birmingham, several fans and Indian cricket experts have speculated the inclusion of ace spinner Kuldeep Yadav into the playing XI for the impending third fixture.

However, Indian fast bowler Varun Aaron has openly expressed his opinion against the idea by giving a brunt verdict on Yadav. Parthiv Patel, on the other hand, believes both Kuldeep Yadav as well as legendary paceman Jasprit Bumrah will be ideal additions into the team.

Varun Aaron Says “Numbers” Don’t Back Kuldeep

Considering the track record of spinners at the Lord’s Stadium in London, Varun Aaron has stated that he does not even want to consider Kuldeep Yadav, or any other extra spinner, in the Indian playing XI for the third Test of the series against England.

While speaking with JioHotstar, Aaron said:

“Not at all, I wouldn't consider an extra spinner at Lord's. We all know. The numbers say it all. Mostly fast bowlers take wickets at Lord's.”

Parthiv Patel, on the other hand, had a contrasting view over the Lord’s fate of Kuldeep Yadav. The former wicketkeeper-batter believes Yadav’s presence, along with that of Jasprit Bumrah, will only strengthen this Indian team. He said:

“It will depend upon the conditions, but I would definitely like to see Kuldeep Yadav in this Indian Playing XI. Bumrah and Kuldeep would be outstanding additions to this Indian unit.”

Kuldeep Yadav Record In England

Kuldeep Yadav has played just one Test in his career so far in England. The cricketer went wicketless in the match back in 2018, and conceded runs at 4.88 an over. In white-ball internationals, however, the ace spinner has collected 20 wickets in 12 matches for Team India.

India’s third Test of the five-match series against England will be played at Lord’s between July 10 and July 14. The action will commence from 3:30 PM IST onwards on each match day.
