Liverpool and Portugal forward Diogo Jota, 28, tragically died in a car accident in Spain on Thursday. His brother, Andre Silva, also lost his life in the crash. Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav and former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh took to their official Twitter handles to post heartfelt messages for the loss.

Taking to his official X handle (formerly Twitter) Kuldeep Yadav shared what Jota's loss meant to him.
“Signed in 2020. Won the number 20, and made it his forever. Today, football has not lost. The whole world has lost. Your smile brought a shining light to the pitch you stepped on. Whether it was Porto, Wolves or Liverpool. Hearts were made yours everywhere. My thoughts and prayers to his entire family. May you rest in peace Diogo," wrote Kuldeep.
Kuldeep's message also hid his passion for the sport and expressed that he followed Jota besides his exploits with the cricket ball.
Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh also shared his condolences on his Twitter handle.
“Hard to believe Diogo is gone! He was a baller who brought the game to life every time he touched the pitch! One of the finest ever. Condolences to the family, can't imagine the pain of losing not just Diogo, but his brother in the same accident. Strength to all who knew and loved them," wrote Yuvraj.
Yuvraj's message was more of a emotional and personal one that expressed the grief felt by Jota's family and friends upon his sudden loss.
Moments of silence were observed at sporting events worldwide to honour Jota and his brother. A wedding reel shared by the couple just hours before the fatal crash has since gone viral, adding to the profound sense of loss felt by many.
