The upcoming RCB-KKR match is gaining momentum, with Gautam Gambhir's presence as KKR's mentor adding extra intensity to the rivalry. A video clip released by Star Sports today, featuring Gambhir openly expressing his desire to beat RCB repeatedly has further fueled excitement for the showdown.

KKR, fresh off their win against SRH, will take on RCB at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Meanwhile, despite losing the first match against CSK, RCB bounced back by thrashing Punjab Kings in their second encounter. Notably, RCB hasn't beaten KKR at home since 2015, adding extra motivation for them to secure a win after nearly a decade.

The intense rivalry between Gambhir and Kohli has been a highlight of the IPL, stretching back to Gambhir's playing days. With Gambhir returning to KKR to face RCB, the anticipation for their clash is at an all-time high.

Star Sports recently released a never-before-seen interview of Gambhir, where he criticized RCB's attitude and their trophyless IPL history despite having big names in their squad.

Gambhir expressed a strong desire to consistently defeat RCB, even stating that he wants to beat them "even in my dreams." When asked why, Gambhir simply responded with, "I just want to."

"They are the second-most high-profile team, a flamboyant team, with the owner, and the squad - Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers. Not won anything, but still thought they won everything, and that kind of attitude, I can't take that,” -Gambhir told in the interview.

Gambhir also highlighted three specific instances where KKR completely outplayed RCB, further emphasizing his determination to dominate their rivalry.

“The three best wins that KKR have ever had were against RCB. The first game of the IPL...Brendon McCullum against RCB, then 49 all out and KKR scoring 100 in the first six overs. That was the only time probably when 100 runs were scored in the first six overs in IPL. We always knew they had a strong side and probably the most aggressive batting unit as well - Gayle, Kohli, De Villiers. What can get better than that? If one thing I want out of my IPL career and love to have is go on the cricket field and beat RCB,” -he added.

The two teams will once again square off against each other in match 10 of the IPL 2024, with two crucial points up for grabs.
