The anticipation is palpable as the Indian Premier League (IPL) gears up for another riveting clash between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Former India cricketer Varun Aaron, speaking exclusively to Star Sports on Cricket Live, has stoked the flames of anticipation by shedding light on the simmering rivalry between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir. 

Aaron, who has witnessed this intense rivalry firsthand, predicts sparks to fly when Kohli sets eyes on Gambhir in the KKR dugout.


Recalling the heated exchange between the two stars during IPL 2023, Aaron emphasised Kohli's penchant for keeping the competitive fire burning.

“I don’t want to stir anything but I'm looking forward to the match-up outside the boundary line. Gautam Gambhir is going to be there right beside the Bengaluru dug-out, I don’t know what's going to happen there. We know Virat likes to have fire in his belly and if he just looks at the Kolkata dug-out, he’s going to get fired up.”

As Aaron aptly puts it, the battleground extends beyond the boundary ropes, with the sidelines set to witness a clash of egos between two of Indian cricket's most fiery characters. With Gambhir stationed near the RCB dugout, tension is expected to reach fever pitch.
