Raina Opens Up On Bumrah’s Availability Buzz

As Team India found itself in a tough spot in the ongoing Test series against England, Jasprit Bumrah’s workload management made it more critical. Initially scheduled to play only three Tests, Bumrah’s availability for the upcoming Manchester Test is still unclear. He participated in the first and third matches and is likely to play in just one of the last two.

As this concern is sparking plenty of buzz, Suresh Raina weighs in on the discussion. Speaking to ANI, Raina said the final word on Bumrah’s availability for the fourth Test will come from the doctors.

“I think it is a doctor’s call to be honest. I know my body. I know my doctor. I know what guidelines he is giving me, how to play the game. So I think with Bumrah, I think he is a legend. I think he knows his workload, how to manage himself, and look at his performance at Lord’s, he registered his place in the Lord’s Honours Board,” he said.

Raina Hopes To See Both Pant And Bumrah In Action At Manchester

Trailing behind in the ongoing five-match Test series by a 1-2 margin, Team India will regroup in Manchester for the fourth Test match. Apart from Bumrah’s questionable availability, Pant’s finger injury in the last match is sparking another concern. Weighing in, Suresh Raina urged for both stars to be on the field, believing their presence could spark a game-changing comeback.

“Rishabh Pant had an injury on his finger to. So it is very important for both of them (to play fourth Test. If they have to draw the series or if they have to try to win the team, then I think it will be very important for both of them to feature in the fourth Test,” he added.

After sustaining a finger injury in the last match, Rishabh Pant walked off the ground, delivering the gloves to Dhruv Jurel, and returned later to bat. As the fourth Test is extremely crucial to keep their hope alive in the series, Pant’s presence will be crucial for the side.
