Aakash Chopra reveals shift in his World Cup semi-finalists prediction

The weight of the upcoming clash can be felt not just on the field, but off it as well, as past players from both nations weigh in on what's at stake.

India has shown impeccable form, securing victories against formidable opponents like Australia and Afghanistan, while Pakistan's stellar performance led them to wins over the Netherlands and Sri Lanka. The upcoming match is expected to be a crowd-puller with millions tuning in globally.

Amidst the intense preparations, One Cricket's show, LOC 3.0, featured a spirited discussion between former cricketers from the two nations, Aakash Chopra of India and Waqar Younis of Pakistan.

The duo dived into the many nuances related to the high-profile IND vs PAK game, touching upon the fascinating rivalry between cricket icons Virat Kohli and Babar Azam, the expectations from the clash, and their speculations on the potential semi-finalists.

Chopra, known for his candid opinions, made a surprising revelation during the chat. While he had previously named Pakistan as one of his predicted semi-finalists, he now seems to have changed his stance.

"India, England, South Africa, New Zealand. I kept Pakistan as one of my four favourites pre-tournament, but not now," said Chopra speaking exclusively to OneCricket.

Evidently taken aback by Chopra's switch, Waqar Younis responded with a light-hearted jest, indicating the friendly rivalry that exists off the field.

"I won’t take him out for lunch now," quipped the Pakistan veteran, drawing chuckles.

Meanwhile, as the clock ticks down to the iconic showdown between India and Pakistan, the excitement is evident within the cricketing community. Whether it's on the field or off it, India versus Pakistan encounters are always larger than life, and this World Cup match promises to be no different.
