India’s ODI captain Rohit Sharma is known for his calm nature and sometimes, his forgetfulness. Whether it’s misplacing his phone or forgetting his passport, Rohit often ends up in funny situations. One such old memory came up recently when he appeared on a talk show called “Who’s The Boss YT” hosted by Harbhajan Singh and his wife Geeta Basra.

Rohit Sharma Forgot The Plan At Toss During 2013 CLT20

On the show’s first episode, Rohit appeared along with his wife Ritika Sajdeh. The couple spoke about their love story and shared some light-hearted moments. During the conversation, Rohit recalled a hilarious moment from the 2013 Champions League T20 (CLT20), when he was captaining Mumbai Indians and Anil Kumble was the team’s chief mentor.

Rohit shared, "Once at 2013 CLT20 game, we had to do fielding, but after winning the toss I chose to bat first. So Anil bhai asked me, 'what did you do Rohit?'. I said, 'I saw that the pitch was good, so I chose to bat'. In reality I had forgotten what I was supposed to do and ended up saying wrong at the toss, but we won the match though."

This light moment had the audience and even Harbhajan laughing. It showed Rohit’s fun side, which fans adore.

Recently, Rohit announced his retirement from Test cricket ahead of the England series. At 36, he is now focusing only on ODIs after also retiring from T20Is following India’s T20 World Cup win against South Africa.

Currently, Rohit is spending quality time with his family in Abu Dhabi while the England series goes on. He is expected to return to action in the upcoming three-match ODI series against Bangladesh, which will be his first international assignment after stepping down as Test captain.

After the Bangladesh series, Rohit will likely feature in India’s ODIs against Australia in October and South Africa in December. Post IPL 2025, he hasn’t played competitive cricket. In IPL 2025, Rohit scored 418 runs in 15 matches for Mumbai Indians at an impressive strike rate of 149.28.
