Pakistan are set to commence their T20 World Cup 2024 campaign against hosts, USA in Dallas on Thursday, June 6.

Ahead of the clash, Pakistan skipper, Babar Azam attended the pre-game press conference, and shed light on the preparations for the upcoming USA challenge.

Babar also hit back at his critics, who questioned his motivation in the national team. A stalwart of the Pakistan side, Babar has been slammed for his strike-rate in the T20Is, and ahead of the tournament opener, the Pakistan captain stated that there is no place for personal milestones and achieving the team goal should be the primary motive.

I don't play for personal milestone: Babar Azam

"I don't have any personal milestones for this tournament, my goals are secondary here. Our only goal is to win the World Cup for Pakistan."

Pakistan are coming into this World Cup undercooked. They lost a T20I game against Ireland, a couple of weeks ago, and lost the T20I series against England last week. Moreover, Pakistan have already been jolted with an injury report, with Imad Wasim being ruled out of the USA clash due to an injury.

After USA, Pakistan will next collide against arch-rivals India on June 9 in New York.
