Travis Head has a stunning record vs India [X]

With the much-anticipated India tour of Australia just a few months away, the rivalry between the two cricketing giants is already heating up. As India prepares to visit Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) starting in late November, Australia's star batter Travis Head has revealed that despite his success against the Men in Blue, they are not his favourite opponents.

The dangerous batter has been in stellar form against India, and let's not forget his significant impact in 2023. He played a crucial role in Australia's triumph over Rohit Sharma's side in two major ICC finals.

Travis Head's Bold Statement Ahead Of BGT

Speaking to Star Sports ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Travis Head admitted that playing against India has never been easy and always demands the highest level of competitiveness. Despite having performed exceptionally well in recent encounters, he clarified that India is not his favourite team to face.

“I don't feel like they're my favourite. I just feel like we play them enough, play them lots. And, I guess the last couple of years I've been in nice form. So yeah, being able to, to play well, it's always nice. I guess it's not hard to get up for the contest. It's hugely competitive," Head said.

"Yeah, it's easier to get up for the game. So I wouldn't say they're my favourite. They're extremely difficult but it's been nice to play well in a couple of games and looking forward to preparing well and being ready to go and let's look, hope hopefully I can, I can contribute to what's a successful summer for us," he added.

The left-handed batter scored centuries in both the World Test Championship (WTC) and the ODI World Cup Finals in 2023. He made valuable contributions that led his team to victory on both occasions.

Why Is Travis Head A Threat To India?

The upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy, set to begin in late November, promises to be a fiercely contested series. India has been victorious in every Test series against Australia since 2014, but the Kangaroos won the most crucial encounter between the two sides in the WTC Final 2023.

Head's consistent performances in high-pressure matches have made him one of the most reliable players for his team. Looking at his recent track record, he will be one of the key players to watch and likely there are chances that he might open the batting for Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
