Unarguably, India's best white-ball player Yuvraj Singh enjoys great relationships with cricketers, from players of his era and the current generation as well.

Singh, who played for India between 2000 and 2017, has seen the rise of India's new-age batting maestro Virat Kohli from close quarters, having shared the dressing room with the latter with Team India and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

Both players have often been seen chatting together whenever they catch up on the cricketing field, the latest being at Mohali during an ODI between India and Australia last month. The duo in three Tests, 64 ODIs, and 33 T20Is together for India between 2008-2017.

However, Singh in the latest TRS Podcast opened up about his equation with Kohli. The 2007 T20 and 2011 World Cup winner explained why he is not in touch with his former teammate that much nowadays, who has evolved from Cheeku to King Kohli.

Here's what Yuvraj said

“Not really. I don't disturb him as he is busy. Young Virat Kohli's name was Cheeku. Today's Cheeku is Virat Kohli, there's a big difference,”

Singh went to laud Kohli for brining in a new wave of fitness in India, and joked about the batter's footballing skills as well.

“We all wanted to become a fit team but when he (Kohli) became captain there was a big difference. He set a benchmark. He thinks he's a very good footballer, but I have more skills. He is young, he runs around. He thinks he is Cristiano Ronaldo but he isn't. In cricket, he is. In terms of fitness, it matches (their mentality), and the focus on the game also,”

Meanwhile, Kohli has been churning out runs in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, and recently slammed his 49th ODI ton, and will look to reach his 50th hundred against Netherlands on Sunday.
