In a shocking incident, prominent Indian cricketer Shubman Gill has fallen prey to deep fake technology along with his alleged girlfriend Sara Tendulkar. Gill, who is currently representing India at the ICC World Cup on home soil, has been victimised by the artificial intelligence technology, as a morphed image featuring him with Sara has gone viral on social media.
Recently, deep fake technology recently grabbed the headlines for a wrong reason after an obscene video featuring renowned Indian actress Rashmika Mandanna took the internet by storm. As if it wasn't enough, a few miscreants have misused the AI feature to circulate an edited image of Shubman and Sara to tarnish their social image.
As reported by several media outlets, the image that originally has Sara Tendulkar with his brother Arjun, has been modified by some unknown person, who has replaced the latter with Gill. While it continues to remain a suspense whether they are dating each other, the edited image has certainly added fuel to the fire.
Meanwhile, talking about Gill, the stylish batter has blown hot and cold in the 2023 World Cup. Besides two glorious fifties against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, the Punjab-born has failed to live up to the expectations in the marquee event. He will next be seen in action during India's final league-stage encounter against the Netherlands in Bengaluru on the 12th.
