'We'll Seek An Explanation'- BCB Reacts To Allan Donald's Comments On Timed Out Saga

Bangladesh bowling coach Allan Donald has landed himself in hot water with Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) after speaking against Shakib Al Hasan's decision to appeal for the controversial Angelo Mathews 'Timed-Out' appeal during the Bangla Tigers clash against Sri Lanka in Delhi in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

Hasan received harsh backlash from the former players and fans for going against the spirit of the game but found support from teammates.

On Wednesday, however, Donald stated how he felt disappointed over the whole fiasco and that he is against such dismissals, saying how Bangladesh does not stand for this.

"My immediate reaction when that happened - and this is just [that] my instincts would have taken over - is I almost actually thought of going on that field and saying, 'enough is enough, we don't stand for this; we are not that kind of team who stand for this'. That was my immediate thought," Donald had stated.

As per Cricbuzz, BCB officials have stated that Donald's outburst came under their radar and that they will talk to the former South African pacer seeking an explanation.

Here's what BCB official said

"We have seen the news quoting Donald and we are taking that seriously. We will certainly seek an explanation in the coming days."

A lacklustre show in the ongoing World Cup has already put the BCB under immense pressure, and they are unlikely to retain several members of the current support staff moving forward.

Hasan-san Bangladesh will face Australia in their final WC match on Saturday at Pune, with chances of qualification in ICC Champions Trophy 2025 at stake.
