India captain Rohit Sharma turned the post-game press conference into a laughter riot while commenting on Dubai’s pitch report for the India-Pakistan clash. He stated that he is not a curator who can predict things precisely, but he expects the pitch to be a little slower.

Team India got off to a great beginning in the Champions Trophy 2025 tournament as they defeated Bangladesh in their first match by 6 wickets. Bangladesh recovered well from 35/5 to put up a 228-run score. Despite a slow start, Shubman Gill, who scored a century, and KL Rahul took the game deep and chased down the total in 46.3 overs.

Rohit Sharma unsure about pitch nature for India-Pakistan clash

Meanwhile, during the post-game press conference, India captain Rohit Sharma was asked to unveil his expectations from the pitch of Dubai International Stadium for the high-voltage India-Pakistan clash. However, Rohit tickled funny bones when he answered the question in his own style.

“Not sure, but it will be pretty much similar I guess. I am not the curator here to tell you how exactly it will play but looks like it with the way the games have been played here," Rohit said.

The Indian skipper expected a slow and sluggish surface for the upcoming mega clash between arch-rivals. However, pressure will be on Pakistan as they face a do-or-die situation after losing the first game to New Zealand.

Rohit regains form in Champions Trophy

Rohit Sharma, meanwhile, is off to a flyer start in Champions Trophy 2025 as he scored a promising 41 off 36 balls against Bangladesh. Chasing a modest total of 229 runs, the skipper came out all guns blazing.

He knitted a quick 69-run partnership with Shubman Gill before getting dismissed by Taskin Ahmed in the final over of the first powerplay. However, he set the foundation right as Gill went on to score a ton. KL Rahul supported him with 41 off 47 balls as India wrapped up the game in 46.3 overs to clinch a comprehensive 6-wicket win.
