The primary reason for India's success in Champions Trophy 2013 was that openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan set the stage on fire with their aggressive starts that helped the Men in Blue to finish the tournament without a loss. However, with time, Dhawan, who used to play a pivotal role for India not long ago, is now largely out of favour and, in fact, missed out on selection for World Cup 2023.

Meanwhile, Sharma, who is leading India into the mega event, will be partnered by Shubman Gill at the top, who has been in impressive form himself. Recently, in an interview with journalist Vimal Kumar, the Indian captain shed light on his relationship with the 'Gabbar' of the Indian team.

Rohit mentioned that he and Dhawan have played cricket together for a long and that is why they had such a great understanding, adding he stays very chilled out.

"I am a big fan of Shikhar Dhawan, we share a very good bond, played together from U-17 to U-19 to India and opened for a long time. He is very relaxed, fun & chill guy."

Although India might not miss Shikhar in the upcoming World Cup, considering top-order's form but, his charmness and entertaining nature will still be missed.

Regarding the World Cup, India will feature in two warm-up games against England and Netherlands on 30th September and 3rd October, respectively, before the main tournament starts.
