The Number 1 ranked ODI batter Babar Azam, who also happens to be the captain of Pakistan, reached India on Wednesday for the World Cup 2023, intending to leave a mark with the bat. Azam started practising on Thursday at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad, where the Pakistan side are staying.

On their arrival in Hyderabad, the Pakistani players received a warm reception from the fans and media as people were cheering the visitors. Now, a video posted by skipper Azam on his social media platform X (formerly Twitter) shows him grinding hard in the nets ahead of the warm-up match against New Zealand on 29th September.

Babar could be seen facing Shaheen Afridi alongside a few net bowlers and side-arm throwers whom he seemed to play comfortably. Generally defensive, but the right-hander plays occasional shots in the 45-second-long video captioned,

"Get. Set. Go.⚡"

Azam is crucial to Pakistan's chances, considering he has scored the bulk of runs for the side in the past and will have to carry the baton in this mega-event, too.

The likes of Mohammad Rizwan, Imam-ul-Haq and Iftikhar Ahmed will have to play their roles with the bat, whereas Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf will have to take care of the bowling department.

After Green Nation's match against the Kiwis, they would be indulged in another game against Australia on 3rd October in Hyderabad only before the World Cup takes centre stage.
