The excitement before the commencement of the highly-anticipated World Cup continues to build up as fans await to see their stars take center stage. With only a week to go before the World Cup kicks off, teams have started arriving in India to start their preparations well in advance.

Team India is certainly in the spotlight as the home side will be eyeing to lift their second World Cup title since 2011. The Men in Blue have landed in Guwahati to play their first World Cup warm-up match against England at Barsapara Stadium on September 30.

Once the team landed, the team received a very loud cheer from the fans who gathered around the airport entrance to get a glimpse of them. However, the crowd was on their feet when they spotted Virat Kohli exiting the airport terminal. Fans could be heard chanting “kohli kohli” and were jostling around to snap a picture of him.

Kohli was last seen in action during the recently concluded 3-match ODI series against Australia on Wednesday. He made a well-complied 56 (61) before miscuing a pull shot to Maxwell at mid-wicket. Previously, the 34-year-old was rested for the first two ODI games which India went on to win quite convincingly in the end.

India will play another warm-up fixture against Netherlands on October 2 before heading into the World Cup where they will face off against the mighty Aussies at M.A Chidambaram on October 8. There is a tremendous amount of excitement in the air as fans would be firmly behind the Men in Blue and would be hoping for them to script a monumental achievement.
