The saga over hosts for Champions Trophy 2025 is far from over. The BCCI is likely pushing for a hybrid model over security concerns in Pakistan, while the PCB is hell-bent on hosting the tournament in their country.

No decision was taken over the ongoing discussion over the Champions Trophy in the recently concluded ICC annual meet. The latest reports are that the PCB has left things in ICC's hands to solve the matter, while the International Cricket Council has reportedly handed extra money to the PCB to accommodate India's games outside Pakistan.

Meanwhile, in the latest events, Pakistan veteran Shoaib Malik has appealed to the Indian side to come to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. Malik remarked that Pakistanis are good people and assured India of top-most hospitality.

"Whatever reservations there are between the countries, that's a separate issue and should be solved separately. Politics shouldn't come into sports. The Pakistan team went to India last year, and now it's a good opportunity for the Indian team too. I think there are many players in the Indian team who haven't played in Pakistan, so it would be great for them. Hum bahut acche log hai (we are good people). We're very hospitable people, so I'm sure the Indian team should come," Malik said on a Pakistani YouTube channel to journalist Saleem Khaliq.

Recently, Younus Khan also appealed to BCCI to send the Indian side to Pakistan and added that it is the only thing left for Virat Kohli to achieve in his career.
