England's experienced wicket-keeper Jonny Bairstow starred with the gloves in Welsh Fire's inaugural The Hundred 2024 encounter against Manchester Originals on Thursday night.

Bairstow, who managed 18 runs with the bat, showcased exemplary reflexes to stump Manchester's Usama Mir during the first half of the game.

The incident occurred during the eleventh set of Manchester Originals' innings when they were already six down, thanks to David Willey's sensational opening spell

Welsh Fire skipper Tom Abell's decision to bring his trump card Mason Crane into the attack worked wonders for his side, as the wily spinner outfoxed Usama Mir.

Crane bowled a leg-break delivery from over the wicket that turned slightly away from Mir after pitching around the good length.

As the Pakistani spinner went for a cut shot, he missed it completely, with Bairstow collecting the ball cleanly behind the stumps.

However, as the batter was slightly outside the crease, Bairstow dislodged the bails in a flash to get him stumped.

Regarding the match, Manchester Originals finished on 86/8 in 100 balls, as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. In response, Welsh Fire chased the target without breaking a sweat in just 57 deliveries.
