'How Many Have Scored 200' - Jadeja Questions BCCI For Ishan Kishan Snub

A persistent criticism of the current Team India management under Rahul Dravid has been the continued experimentation in white-ball cricket, which has in the past year or so seen several players play for the nation in one series and then remain in oblivion.

The recently concluded T20I against Australia, in which India won 4-1 under Suryakumar Yadav, also witnessed the chopping and changing of players, namely wicketkeeper batter Ishan Kishan.

Kishan featured for India in the first three matches scoring 110 runs, and then remained benched for the final two encounters.

Former India all-rounder Ajay Jadeja has questioned the team management's decision to leave out Kishan after just 3 T20Is and needed to be handed the long rope.

Speaking to Sports Tak, Jadeja asked if Kishan indeed was tired having played three matches, despite missing most of the Cricket World Cup 2023, and how the constant resting will help the opener improve moving forward.

Here's what Jadeja said

"There was a series right after the World Cup. Ishan Kishan played three matches and went home. Was he really that tired after three matches that he needed rest? He didn't even play a lot of games at the World Cup. He deserved his spot in the playing XI for the first few World Cup matches. How many Indian players have scored a double century on a good day?" Jadeja said.

"So, if this is going to continue, how will you ensure that he is fully ready?"

In the 2023 World Cup, the 25-year-old played two matches, against Australia and Afghanistan, respectively.

Meanwhile, Kishan has been included in India's Test and T20I squad for the South Africa tour, which gets underway on December 10.
