India has been taken aback by a tragic incident that took place on November 10, 2025, at the Red Fort in the heart of Delhi. A powerful car blast near the iconic structure killed at least 13 people and injured over twenty, with the explosion occurring in a Hyundai i20 car at around 6:50 p.m. IST.
The explosion caused damage to nearby vehicles, with the incident being linked to a potential white-collar terror unit. While the cricketing fraternity has expressed their prayers for the deceased and the injured, India’s ODI and Test captain Shubman Gill recently took to his official X handle to express his condolences toward the family members while praying for the safety and strength of all Indian citizens.
Gill prays for strength and peace after Red Fort tragedy
Taking to his official Twitter handle on November 11 at 5 p.m. IST, Shubman Gill wrote, “Disturbed by the distressing events at the Red Fort, my thoughts are with everyone impacted, hoping for peace, safety, and strength for all.”
Gill's tweet reached 42,000 netizens as it was reposted more than 200 times and liked by 4,000 people at the time of writing. Notably, Shubman Gill was not the only cricketing personality to share his condolences for the tragic loss.
India head coach Gautam Gambhir and former India greats like Anil Kumble, Shikhar Dhawan, Ishant Sharma, and Amit Mishra also spoke up about the tragic loss on their official social media handles on Twitter.
With suspicions arising of a link between this terror attack and Pakistan, a major boycott threat looms again for Pakistan following the Asia Cup 2025 controversy between the neighbouring countries.
