On the evening of November 10, 2025, a powerful car blast near Delhi's Red Fort killed at least nine people and injured over twenty. The explosion occurred in a Hyundai i20 at a traffic signal around 6:50 PM, causing extensive damage to nearby vehicles and scattering debris. The incident is being investigated as a terror attack as the NIA and NSG, are probing potential links to a "white-collar" terror module. 

Following the attack, a high alert was issued across Delhi and other states. Home Minister Amit Shah visited the site and the injured, promising a thorough investigation. The Red Fort was temporarily closed, and the metro station was shut down.

Cricket fraternity reacts to Red Fort blast

Expressing their grief over this tragic incident, the cricketing fraternity raised their voices on social media to offer their condolences and support to the families of the injured and deceased.

India head coach Gautam Gambhir led the voices of support with his tweet on his official X handle. "Saddened by the loss of lives due to the blast in Delhi. Praying for strength to the families of deceased and for the speedy recovery of injured," Gautam Gambhir wrote on his official social media handle.

"Stay Safe, Delhi. Thoughts and prayers," Aakash Chopra wrote on his Twitter handle.

Ex-India cricketer Amit Mishra also shared his condolences on X with a heartfelt note for the deceased and the injured. "Deeply saddened by the tragic Delhi blast near Red Fort. Prayers for the victims, their families and a speedy recovery for the injured. Stay safe."

"Tragic and shocking news from Delhi. The loss of lives near the Red Fort Metro Station is heartbreaking. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families during this difficult time," India great Anil Kumble shared on his twitter timeline.

Ex-KKR star and currently in the Rajasthan royals family, Nitish Rana also shared his thoughts on the explosion. "Deeply saddened by the loss of innocent lives in the blast near Red Fort. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families affected. United we stand against terror."

Pragyan Ojha also shared a heartfelt note for the tragic incident. "Deeply anguished by the tragic loss of lives in the blast in Delhi. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. Praying for strength to those affected and for the swift recovery of the injured. #delhi #redfort" 

"The blast near the Red Fort Metro Station is deeply tragic and distressing. Losing innocent lives in such an incident is an immense loss. Heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones. Praying for the speedy and complete recovery of all the injured. Om Shanti," Kedar Jadhav wrote.

With many details yet to be revealed surrounding the blast, India awaits confirmation of any Pakistan terrorist involvement which might again lead to a stir in the cricketing community following the Asia Cup 2025 row.
