England Test captain Ben Stokes appears set to make his return to action in the first Test against India after successfully recovering from a left-knee injury. The 32-year-old underwent surgery in November to address the long-standing issue, and although he refrained from bowling during the squad's recent camp in Abu Dhabi, his presence was encouraging.

Former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum praised Stokes's commitment and work ethic, likening him to a "greyhound" in terms of fitness. McCullum expressed confidence in Stokes's readiness.

Here's what he said:

"I've seen him running around, and I think he's good to go. We'll obviously make that call as late as what we need to. But he's put all the work in, and we'll just have to wait and see."

The upcoming five-Test series against India kicks off on January 25th in Hyderabad. England, having arrived in India, commenced their training at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium on Monday. With Stokes potentially returning to action, England fans eagerly await the thrilling clashes set to unfold in the subcontinent.
