Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star and Goa opener Suyash Prabhudessai produced a magnificent counterattacking century against a strong Karnataka bowling line-up in his side’s Elite Group C match of the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024 season.

Suyash Prabhudessai hits second successive ton

Mere days after scorching Chandigarh’s bowling attack with a stupendous 197 in Porvorim, Suyash Prabhudessai scored another century, this time taking Karnataka to the cleaners during their latest Ranji Trophy 2024 faceoff in Mysore.

The cricketer led Goa’s recovery in the second innings after his side conceded a 177-run deficit at the halfway stage of the contest. After losing opening partner Ishaan Gadekar in just the second over of the innings, Prabhudessai guided his side to 93-1 by stumps on Day 3.

The following afternoon, the right-handed batter pounced on his unbeaten overnight score of 34 to complete a splendid century. His counterattacking knock wiped out Goa’s first-innings deficit as they ended up taking a lead on the final day of the contest.

Prabhudessai’s century marked his second ton in his last three innings, and the fourth overall of his first-class career.

While Prabhudessai is currently plying his all-round trade for Goa in the Ranji Trophy 2024 season, the uncapped Indian cricketer will soon be joining the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) camp for the forthcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 event.

After being roped in by the franchise for IPL 2022, the batting all-rounder was retained by them the following year for the IPL 2023 season. The Goa star was also retained by the RCB management in November 2023, alongside franchise veterans Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell and Faf du Plessis for the much-awaited IPL 2024 competition.
